Big Blue Moon is a modern jazz trio from south Minneapolis that is in constant motion of creation and improvisation, without worrying too much about what jazz should be. This trio draws from several decades of jazz history to create sounds that are both traditional and modern, and the group features a flexible lineup built around St. Olaf Graduate Nick Bhalla's piano. Tonight this talented trio will also feature Calvin Caron on bass and Ben Ehrlich on drums.

He has played in Rock, Country, Bluegrass, Folk, Traditional Jazz and Gypsy Jazz bands, as well as being involved in theatrical and classical music. Although he has played across the country and overseas, his favorite audience is always the one he’s playing for now!

From Northfield Minnesota, self-styled Alt-Variety band The Zillionaires perform compelling original songs by Wendy Smith and covers from a diverse catalogue of Americana, country, roots, rock, and blues...and the occasional reggae request! The Zillionaires entertain music lovers with their skilled musicianship and well-honed sense of fun!
Mark Joseph is as authentically American as you would want, and as heartfelt and passionate as you can get. As a singer, Joseph digs low for the lows, and soars with the highs, all with his genuine Northfield MN gravel. It’s a voice that wraps its everlasting arms around you and won’t let go, because he is as loyal to his fans as he is to his own family. If you are in his circles, Mark Joseph has got you. He also shreds on guitar, a brilliant round tone with vibrato and touch. American Soul is a fitting brand for Mark Joseph; since his 2017 album by that title, he has charted a relentless and soulful course through America, and Americana, from blues to country to psychedelic rock and everything in between.

Songs you know, played faster and with more energy than you've ever heard them before. Imagine if Wanda Jackson and Rivers Cuomo had a child, bathed it in sound, then placed it in a basket and sent it on a mythical journey down the Cannon River. That is, in essence, the kind of experience we'll enjoy when this talented band rocks our socks off.
Join us for a fabulous evening of jazz on the Second Sunday of the month, featuring local musicians or folks from a little farther afield. Today, we welcome back the talented Northfield trombonist, JC Sanford, joined today by Anthony Cox on bass.
