This month’s event is The Arctic -- Earth's Air Conditioner: How Does it Work and Is it Broken? featuring Dr. Alden Adolph of St. Olaf College and Dr. Ben Kopec, University of Alaska Anchorage
Dr. Alden Adolph and Dr. Ben Kopec are Arctic scientists who travel to Greenland to study climate by looking at water in its various forms (snow, ice, vapor, and liquid). The Arctic is warming twice as fast as the rest of the planet, and Ben and Alden both work on studying what happens to the snow and ice as these temperatures increase. We will discuss the role of snow in our climate system, how we are changing this system, and how this might impact communities around the world.
Bring your questions, and hope to see you there!
